
Program Description
The “Step-by-step in Pediatric Atopic Dermatitis” is an educational program that was developed based on a recent assessment that highlighted the educational need to increase awareness and knowledge of pediatric atopic dermatitis (AD) management.
This program consists of two distinct parts:
- Part 1: Pre-read (asynchronous) covering the etiology, disease burden and assessment tools in pediatric atopic dermatitis
- Part 2: Live webcast (synchronous) covering treatment guidelines and interactive patient cases

This activity is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by McMaster University Continuing Professional Development Program. You may claim a maximum of 1 MOC Section 1 hour.

Program Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity on pediatric AD, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the disease burden, clinical features and become familiar with pediatric AD assessment tools
- Recognize atopic and non-atopic comorbidities in pediatric AD to ensure appropriate screening, management and referral when needed
- Discuss evidence-based current and emerging treatment and management recommendations.
