Royal College Criteria for Recognized Physician Organizations
The organization must be not-for-profit
The organization must have a formal governance structure
The organization's membership must primarily consist of physicians
The board/executive committee must include practicing physicians
The organization must have defined membership expectations
This may include membership fees, participation in meetings, etc.
The organization must demonstrate accountability to its members
Members must have voting rights within the organization
